The 15th Beijing International Radio, TV & Film
Equipment Exhibition(BIRTV2006)
Digital Media Showcase Section &
The 2nd China Digital Media Summit
August 23~26,
2006, Beijing
Held once a year, the Beijing International
Radio, TV & Film Equipment Exhibition (BIRTV) is China’s top
officially recognized comprehensive trade fair for professional
radio, TV and film equipments. For the past 20 years since its
establishment, the number of the exhibitioners and visitors,
displayed equipment levels, total exhibition area, and
professionalism levels, etc. have all reached a very high grade
among its fellow exhibitions at home. Moreover, BIRTV has not
only played the role of exhibiting and displaying radio, TV and
Film equipments, but also played the role of probing into
technical trends and further promoting industrial developments
In 2005, a breakthrough was achieved in the
domestic cable digital TV market when there were more than 4
million users of digital TV;
In 2005, the mobile TV carried by vehicles
developed rapidly; at the meanwhile, IPTV had become the focus
of industrial developments;
On January 1, 2006, two HDTV channels, i.e.
CCTV HDTV channel and “New Vision” of Shanghai Media and
Entertainment Group (SMG) began to be officially broadcast;
In August of 2006, the first
direct broadcasting
satellite of our country will be launched and the
ground digital TV will also be started;
In 2006, 3G licenses will possibly begin to
be granted; therefore, mobile phone and TV operations based upon
a 3G radio and TV network will also be ready to function;
In 2008, the terrestrial
HDTV will be carried out in our country and the satellite
mobile multi-media TV broadcasting operations will also be
started.
…
The broadcasting industry is facing new
opportunities and challenges in the process of developing new
transmission and connecting ways such as cable, ground,
satellite, IP, 3G, Wimax and so on, together with rapid
emergence of new media such as digital TV, IPTV, mobile TV,
mobile phone TV,
direct broadcasting satellite and so on. Such texts as
“enhancing the information infrastructural construction of broad
band communications network, digital TV network and next
generation Internet, etc, and promoting the integration of the
three networks” have been written into the Eleventh Five-Year
Plan of the government; meanwhile, the Eleventh Five-Year
Plan for Development of Broadcasting and TV Techniques and
Prospective Targets in 2020 also indicates that
“researches shall be actively conducted to
promote the integration of the three networks and construct the
next generation network based upon the digital TV network”.
Under these
circumstances, the organizing committee of BIRTV will provide
No.6 and No.7 exhibition halls as the venue for the “Digital
Media Showcase Section” to exhibit the systems, equipments and
new operations related to new digital media, and the total area
will be more than 6000 square meters. In the mean time, the 2nd
China Digital Media Summit will also be held together with the
exhibition. Therefore, the interactive cooperation between the
exhibition and forum sessions will greatly help promote
exhibitioners’ products and give visitors chances of
experiencing by themselves and communicating with each other.
As
the only government-supporting large-scale exhibition which
features “new media” in mainland China, the BIRTV Digital Media
Showcase Section will provide the same platform for both program
suppliers and equipment suppliers, combine programs operation
with the technique platform, and promote integrated developments
in both techniques and operations. Therefore, we believe that
the form of “exhibition
+
seminar” will become a new shining feature of this exhibition.
