China Digital Television Summit
¡¡
The 15th China Cable Broadcast
Networking (CCBN2007) will be held from March 30th to April 1st 2007 in
China International Exhibition Center of Beijing. It is a professional,
international, annual grand meeting of this industry organized by State
Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT), co-organized by
Academy of Broadcasting Science, SARFT, Networking Center of Radio, Film and
Television Information,
China DTV Media
Inc, Ltd and Radio£¦Television
Offices and Bureaus of the autonomous regions,
municipalities directly under
Central Government of all regions in our country, therefore winning close
attention of domestic and oversea experts as well as the public.
Currently, radio and television
industry in our country is in the process of being comprehensively
transferred from analogue to digitalization; cable DTV users are already
over 10 million; terrestrial digital TV, DBS are actively being prepared and
probed, and DAB, mobile multimedia broadcasting are also being launched and
prepared. Digitalization of broadcasting will bring about unprecedented
opportunities and challenges to the broadcasting industry in our country.
The whole industry chain including program designing, broadcasting,
transmitting and receipting will be greatly changed and re-organized in the
era of DTV. DTV will promote the informatization, networking, digitalization
and industrialization of the broadcasting industry in our country.
Meanwhile, the national ¡°11th Five-year Plan¡± also clearly pointed out the
direction of three-net integration. How broadcasting industry should cope
with new challenges, and welcome brilliant prospect is a concerned topic to
everyone in this field and people concerning about this industry.

Under this background, and
holding the principle of ¡°professional exhibition promote industry
development¡±, CCBN organizing committee will hold the large-scale,
high-level ¡°China Digital Television Summit¡±(CDTS) on March 29th
2007, and entrust Radio&Television Information, SARFT with the sole
co-organization of it. This summit has won direction and strong support of
SARFT. Deputy Director Zhang Haitao will assume the honorary chairman; and
Wang Xiaojie-Director of the Science and Technology Division will attend
this summit and deliver a main theme speech. Mr Tim Suter-Member of the
Executive Committee of British OFCOM is also invited to this summit. Since
Britain is the country with the highest DTV penetration rate, he will
introduce related industry policies, experience and how Britain balances the
public welfare and industrialization of its broadcasting industry. Dr. Guy
Bisson from a famous British research institution Screen Digest will share
his research on global Cable DTV and the newest trends of foreign cable
network in Triple Play aspect.

This one-day summit is divided
into two parts: five main theme reports and a panel discussion in the
morning; three branch forums whose main theme respectively are ¡°Welcome the
time of post-transfer¡±, ¡°Mobile multi-media broadcasting¡±, ¡°STB and its VAS
operation¡±.
Branch forum ¡°Welcome the time
of post-transfer¡± will analyze the process of DTV overall transfer, and
emphatically discuss the service deploying, two-way rebuilding and broadband
service, interactive TV exploring, pattern selection and planning of two-way
rebuilding technology and other aspects; ¡°Mobile multi-media¡± special will
discuss the CMMB and DAB status and trends. Mobile multi-media will co-form
a comprehensive coverage and service system of China broadcasting industry
together with cable, terrestrial and DBS; STB is still the key of
digitalization, and the VAS after overall transfer will become the core
issue of DTV in-depth development in all regions, therefore ¡°STB and the
operation of VAS¡± special will open a comprehensive discussion about this
issue.
Besides, CATV Committee of
China Radio and TV Association and
R&TI Research
of Radio£¦Television
Information will
release ¡°2006-2007 China DTV Industry Report¡±, ¡°China HDTV Industry Report¡±,
¡°China TV on Automobile Industry Report¡± and ¡°China STB Market Research
Report¡± to share with internal and external people large amounts of
first-hand research data and in-depth industry analysis.
This summit has won close
attention and support of high-level of CATV companies from all regions,
therefore tens of high-level management persons will participate in this
summit to co-discuss the DTV technology system and industry operation
together with other participants in order to comprehensively promote the DTV
development in our country.
